Steve graduated as a Physiotherapist from the University of Sydney in 1994. Prior to that completed a Science degree at the University of Newcastle. He has worked as a physiotherapist for over 25 years. After first working in the public health system, Steve then moved into private practice at Sports Focus Physiotherapy Liverpool in 1996. He is working and manages Sports Focus Physiotherapy at our Castle Hill and Mt Pritchard locations.
Steve has worked with many elite sports teams and sportspersons over the years ranging from local to national, including Penrith Panthers Rugby League, Mounties Rugby League, Michael Wendon Swimming and the NSW Open Water Swim Team, Hockey NSW, the Australian Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Teams, Netball NSW and finally the NSW Swifts SSN Team.
He has been the Head Physiotherapist for the NSW Swifts SSN Netball Team since 2018. Prior to that, he was Head Physiotherapist for Mounties Rugby League for 14 years, and Physiotherapist to the AHL NSW Hockey Men’s and under 18 teams for 6 years.
He also has special interests in golf-related injuries and biomechanics and is an accredited TPI (Titleist Performance Institute) Specialist. Steve provides a musculoskeletal screening service and Pre-Pointe Assessment for dancers and has a special interest in treating spinal and pelvic conditions and uses Muscle Energy Techniques. Steve is qualified to perform dry needling and is a preferred provider for New South Wales Institute of Sport,
In 2019 he was named an Honorary Clinical Lecturer for Macquarie University for the work he has done in educating Physiotherapy students.
On weekends Steve loves to cycle with friends and regularly participate in charity rides.
