Rebecca graduated from Curtin University with a Bachelor of Science (Physiotherapy) and is a member of the Vice Chancellor’s list, which recognises students in the top 1% of their course for excellent academic achievement.
Prior to joining the Sports Focus family, Rebecca worked at a well-established private practice in Bondi, treating a variety of musculoskeletal and chronic neurological conditions. She also rehabilitated a number of elite athletes and professional performers from acute injuries. Rebecca also has three years of experience working with amateur AFL clubs in Perth her home town.
Rebecca is very passionate about movement control and technique, which feeds into her love for Pilates. She has gained her Level 1 and 2 Mat work and Level 3 Equipment qualifications in Clinical Pilates through the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute, and is in the process of completing her certification.
Dance is a major part of Rebecca’s life as she has been trained in Indian Classical Dance (Bharathnatyam), Ballet and Jazz since the age of 4. She has been a dancer and choreographer for some of Western Australia’s largest Bollywood dance groups and has also taught Indian Classical Dance for several years. Her background in Clinical Pilates and dance gives her a wide exercise repertoire, which she incorporates into her Physiotherapy sessions. Being a young dancer herself, Rebecca is able to relate to and understand the demands, requirements and pressures young competitive and recreational athletes face.
